1. What we collect

We collect your email address and a hashed password when you register. We record API usage logs (story played, audio characters generated, LLM tokens used) to operate the platform and calculate costs. We store your Stripe customer ID to manage billing; we never store raw payment card data — all payment processing is handled by Stripe.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to: authenticate your account, deliver the service, process payments, and maintain usage statistics for platform health. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Voice modifications

When you speak a modification, your voice is processed by your browser's built-in Web Speech API (provided by your operating system or browser vendor). We do not receive or store audio recordings. We receive only the transcribed text of your modification instruction.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate ClipJoy:

• ElevenLabs — text-to-speech audio generation. Story segment text is sent to ElevenLabs to produce narration audio.
• AI language model provider — AI story rewriting. When you request a modification, the relevant story segment text is sent to our model provider to generate the adapted version.
• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all card data under PCI DSS standards.
• Railway — hosting. Our servers and database run on Railway infrastructure in the United States.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use a session token stored in your browser's localStorage to keep you logged in. We may use privacy-preserving analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. Usage logs are retained for up to 12 months for billing and platform health purposes.

7. Your rights

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email where possible.
